With the holidays quickly approaching, your sons and
daughters will soon have some much needed time off of school. It’s a good idea
to start thinking of the things you might want to do as a family over both
Thanksgiving and Christmas break. A little pre-planning can lead to some new
family memories. Unfortunately, Thanksgiving and Christmas break will go by
pretty quickly and the time can escape you if you don’t plan ahead.
In MS worship we spent the past 2 weeks talking
about Thankfulness.
First we talked about 3 different people in the Bible expressed their thankfulness in different ways. We looked at Anna, the leper, and Jesus as He thanked God for the provisions of the loaves and fish.
First we talked about 3 different people in the Bible expressed their thankfulness in different ways. We looked at Anna, the leper, and Jesus as He thanked God for the provisions of the loaves and fish.
We then talked about how true thankfulness is a
result of selflessness and can be shown by forgiving, loving, and worshipping (Colossians
3:12-17). Jesus cleansed us from our sin the same way He cleansed the Lepers of
their Leprosy. As people who follow God and were created in His image, out of
our gratitude for what He has done for us we need to forgive people, love God
and love people, and worship Him with our entire beings.
As you and your family celebrate thanksgiving take
some time as a family to not just talk about what you’re grateful for, but also
how you can show that thankfulness daily.
Hebrews
10:24-25And let us
consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another
– and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
One last thing – there are no youth services this
Sunday morning and no CORE Sunday evening. Please worship together as a family.
Blessings,
Margo Most
